I am a graduate student in the Molecular and Cellular Biology Program at the University of Washington. In the Subramaniam Lab at Fred Hutch, I am working on elucidating the causal mechanisms of aberrant mRNA translation on aging and neurodegeneration.

I grew up in Gaithersburg, Maryland, and received my BA from UC Berkeley where I majored in Molecular and Cell Biology and minored in Conservation and Resource Studies. At Berkeley, I worked in an ecology lab under Drs. Justin Brashares and Doug McCauley, where I studied the effects of hippos on their environment using stable isotopes. After that, I joined Dr. Andreas Stahl's metabolic biology lab where I conducted my senior honors thesis on fatty acid circulation and clearance. Following undergrad, I worked as a lab manager and research specialist for Dr. Joanna Phillips at UCSF, where I studied the effects of the tumor microenvironment on glioblastoma multiforme and the genetic landscapes of rare gliomas.

Outside of the lab, I like to go on runs or long walks with my dog, play volleyball, and explore new places.
