I am a REACH Summer Intern at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in the lab of Rasi Subramaniam. I study computational biology under mentor, Jamie Yelland, focusing on mechanisms of translational control, with an interest in how cellular factors and environmental conditions affect the stability of mRNAs.

I grew up on the Southside of Chicago and studied at Spelman College Spelman College in Atlanta, GA. I was honroed to receive membership into Phi Beta Kappa at Spelman as well as numerous research awards including the the Louis B. Stokes undergraduate award at Morehouse School of Medicine. Prior to my intership at Fred Hutch, I studied HIV Neuronflammation under Dr. Kimberly Williams, focusing on the use of endogenous cell signaling via the estrgen pathway to reduce the affects seen in HIV Associated Neurcognitive Disorders. In my spare time, I like to listen to music and shop on-line! I am slo obsessed with the color pink. I will be joining Emory Univsirty's Vaccine Center under Dr. Ann Chahroudi in the fall before applying to medical school for an MD/PhD program. Fun fact: I am a triplet and we are all girls in differnt disciplines in academia.
